Holiday Times @ Primal Elements

Things are starting to wind down a bit around here. In a few hours we will have our Swap-O-Rama gift exchange in the office, I can’t wait to see what great things we will be tempted with this year. Then tomorrow we will have our company wide Holiday lunch.

All of us at Primal Elements are grateful for all the joy we have experienced this past year. From all of us to all of you, we wish you a Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year.

Best,

Faith

Stories from a guest blogger

Sorry for invading her territory… but Faith’s been lagging on the updates lately. I just wanted to take a minute to tell everyone about the importance of taking care of yourself and how even the areas we neglect most will be immensely thankful if we pay them a little love and attention.

About two months ago, I went for a spa facial and was lectured harshly by my therapist about how dry my skin was and the overall build-up of dead skin cells. I dismissed her initial remarks but when I returned home, I looked through my shower and thought about my skin. My arms and legs are amazingly soft because I adore Primal Elements Sugar Whip in Sparkling Sugar – it’s like a treat for my body and the scent is intoxicating.

I did my research on the ingredients the next day. Once they received an okay from several websites (as in being suitable to put on my face), I figured it was time to incorporate my face into my Sugar Whip routine. I lightly lathered my face with the Sparkling Sugar in the mere seconds I let conditioner coat and marinate my scalp. The results were immediate! As soon as I toweled off, I noticed how much softer my cheeks felt instantly.

Six weeks later, I returned to my facialist – armed with my secret weapon. She was astonished to see how supple and smooth my skin was… and how small my pores appeared! Of course she assumed I purchased all the pricey products she recommended at my last visit, but I just shook my head and smiled. Before I left she instructed me to “keep up what I was doing, your skin is sparkling!” If only she knew, it was Sparkling Sugar!

Off to The Big Apple

Early tomorrow morning I will be heading off to New York for the New York International Gift Fair. I’m looking forward to great people and great food! I know deep down I am going to New York to work and showcase new products, but my son reminds me that we are on the eat your way through New York plan. Nothing beats a hot dog off the cart in the busy city; life doesn’t get any better!

Best,

Faith

Off to Atlanta

Tomorrow I will be heading to Atlanta to attend the summer market. I am really looking forward to this trip since I haven’t been to Atlanta for many, many years. We will be having a soap making event at our showroom, Just Got 2 Have it! on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. I look forward to meeting everyone and sharing the fun experience of making soap with all our friends.

World Cup Fever

This past Friday morning, you could feel the excitement in the air. We were very busy with our usual production but heap on top of that the phenomenon that is the World Cup and you could tell this was not just any ordinary work day. One of our staffers had even gone to the trouble of bringing in a very large flat screen T.V. to the factory so everyone could enjoy the game while they were working. I’m not the biggest soccer fan in the building myself, but I couldn’t help but get caught up in the excitement. So, whichever flag you are waving I hope you enjoy the games and catch a little bit of World Cup Fever!

Three Day Weekend

I always look forward to Memorial Day Weekend, not only is it a fun-filled three-day-weekend, and the official kick off to summer, it has a higher importance. We honor those who gave their lives in service to our country and for that I am grateful. So while you are enjoying the sun, the bbq and beach why not take a moment to reflect on the meaning of this day and honor the memory of those who gave for us.

Have a wonderful holiday,

Faith

Happy Mothers Day

We are very busy here getting ready for our upcoming show season. Lots of new products coming out this June so we are buzzing with excitement. I am looking forward to Sunday, Mothers Day. Maybe I can sit down, relax and enjoy a day of doing nothing. I expect my family to treat me like the queen I believe I am. To all you mothers out there, I hope you have a wonderful Mothers Day and enjoy doing what pleases you the most.

Have a good week,

Faith

Wash Your Hands

I woke up Sunday morning, flipped on the television to find Dr. Isadore Rosenfeld speaking about hand-washing. Of course he spoke about how important it is to wash your hands frequently to prevent the passing of germs. But what I found very interesting were his comments on antibacterial soap. Dr. Rosenfeld did not feel that this is a good option for hand-washing. He prefers good old fashioned soap and water. The ingredient in antibacterial soaps, triclosan, he want on to say may do damage to the liver. So please don’t forget to wash your hands often, with Primal Elements soap and sing the Happy Birthday song for the proper length of washing time to get the maximum benefit.

Happy Monday,

Pleasant Surprise

I just had a pleasant surprise! Our Spring 2010 edition of Gift Shop Magazine was delivered today. So while I was thumbing though the pages I found a wonderful mention of our soaps. Pages 42-43 feature the Handcrafted Showcase where you can see a beautiful photo of our Lemongrass and Cranberry Seeds soap and our always popular Tahitian Vanilla soap. If you have the chance, check out these two beautiful soaps and see what the buzz is all about! It’s always so nice to stumble on a pleasant surprise!

Have a Good Week,

Faith

Queen for a Day!

How cool is this? Our Crown Icon Candle is featured in Fairlady Magazine. This is the most popular, trendsetting magazine in South Africa. I still get excited when I see our products in a store I am not aware of, but to be featured in a magazine half way around the world is just amazing to me. Please check out all of our Icon Candles to see if there is an image that suits your fancy.

Have a good weekend,

Faith

Academy Awards Weekend

This past weekend featured the Academy Awards. Our family loves the movies, but my daughter and I love to watch the fashions. Every year we tune in to see the hits and the misses on the Red Carpet. Though we both had our favorites and our disappointments, we will keep those thoughts to ourselves. I did start to think about all things fashion that we do at Primal Elements; how about bathing with a bar of Imelda or lathering up with Miss Behave? These fashion forward soaps add an award winning experience to any bath.

Have a good week,

Faith

Favorite Soap

I’m often asked, “So what’s your favorite soap?” I usually have the same answer. “I can’t pick a favorite, each one is like one of my children, and I can’t pick a favorite.” OK, I guess it’s time to confess. I love our Facets of the Sea fragrance. I know the design is a little bit primitive. We have gotten much more detail oriented but the fragrance stands on its own. It is so clean and fresh, with a touch of the beach when the fragrance mellows out. This soap makes me smile every time I use it. I hope it has the same effect on you.

Have a good week and Go Team USA!

Rainbows

With all the rain we have been getting in southern California, I am happy to say that there has been no shortage of rainbows! I love scanning the horizon after the rains to see the beautiful colors arched across the sky. The vivid hues brighten the day and take the gloom out of the grey days. More rain is on tap for Tuesday and Wednesday so lucky for me there are more rainbows to come. Check out our new Rainbow soap and Icon Candle to add some color to your life too!

Have a Good Week,

All things Ariel

One of our most popular fragrances is Ariel. It is a sultry blend of sandalwood moss and musk, with a soft powdery dry down. We are constantly getting feedback for more products featuring this great aroma. So for all of you Ariel fans out there-rejoice! We have added Ariel to our Sugar Whip and Bubbles Collections and our new Perfume Rollettes feature this lovely aroma as well. So not only do you have soap, you have a complete personal care regimen as well. We hope you enjoy these new products with our favorite fragrance as much as we enjoy bringing it to you.

Have a Great Week!
